Two weeks of Gyoji practice with Olivier Wang-Genh

From Tuesday, February 24 to Sunday, March 8, two weeks of Gyoji practice (continuous practice) and introduction to Zen will take place, led by Master Olivier Reigen Wang-Genh.

These weeks of practice will be dedicated to the renovation of the kitchen. A painting project for the dishwashing area as well as part of the kitchen will be organized, under the attentive and professional supervision of the monk Florent Hogen Martinez.

Participants will also be able to take part in other activities in service of the community, such as cooking, gardening, and tidying up.

TEACHING

Each day, Master Olivier Reigen Wang-Genh will give teachings on Dōgen Zenji’s Fukanzazengi, a fundamental ancient text on the practice of seated meditation, shikantaza.

These teachings will take place both during meditation periods and during teishō, formal talks given in the dojo. Times for exchange in the form of question-and-answer sessions (mondō) will also be offered, as well as dokusan, individual interviews with the master for those who wish.

Participation in the daily life of the place is an integral part of the experience, in a spirit of simplicity, commitment, and sharing.

A wonderful opportunity to come and practice at the Temple of La Gendronnière at the beginning of spring, as the first buds begin to appear.

PROGRAM

For the staff team, arrival takes place on Monday, February 23 in the late afternoon. The first morning zazen will be held at 8:00 a.m.

For registered participants, arrival takes place on Tuesday, February 24 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. If you are new to the practice, please arrive around 4:00 p.m., as an introductory talk will be given at 5:00 p.m.
